I am not sure if this will last one will count, but its on the net and most certainly made entirely in flash. It is the music video for the rap artist Aesop Rock. I cannot even imagine how many layers are in this video, or how it relates to the song, but it certainly is interesting and if it is made of flash, then why not post it?

Thom Yorke
This is the website of one of my favorite artists, Thom Yorke. I don't really know why, but the whole theme of his album and website sort of reminds me of the stopmotion/flash animation we watched in class, but in black and white. It really isn't the greatest flash on the net, but its nice and solemn and is a lot like the music Yorke is all about.

Saizen Studios
This was another website designers website, so the result was bound to be goodlooking. But this website is SO ridiculously beautiful, i just had to post about it. There are so many tiny details in the homepage, there just had to have been 50 other programs other than Flash involved. The trees shake, the chicks chirp, and the music is great too.

Publicis & Hal RIney
This one was a easy website to find, mainly because this is an advertising agency. But the flash animation was unlike anything I've seen before. The flow of the animation was so smooth and beautiful. I didn't do this, but apparently you could also navigate the website using your webcam and hand movements. I'm not sure why exactly anyone would actually WANT to do this, considering the idea sounds like it takes more hand movement then usual and they even post a warning that they may even be recording you, but I suppose the idea is innovative somehow. The smokey liquid is the most eyecatching thing though, and that is why I posted the link just below.

The Man Who Thought He Was Bill Murray
I found this flash a while ago actually, but i always found it to be hilarious. At first it doesn't seem to be impressive at all, and a lot less than extraordinary. It starts with simple figures and annoyingly awful computer voices, but if you are a fan of Bill Murray (which i truly am) and also a fan of The Fountain, then you will most definitely find this to be hilarious and actually visually nice as far as flash animation goes. It's completely random in its humor, and probably a waste of time, but I love it.

- This short flash animation was centered around a tiger, walking through the city of Brazil. The thing is, the tiger itself was made out of paper, a paper puppet controlled by puppeteers, while everything else around it was real. There were other things other than flash used however, a lot of cg and other effects that simply had were used in programs I've never even heard of other then flash. As an amateur to the program, I can't even imagine how much time this thing took to complete, but it did, after all, when many awards. The entire presentation was put together well and his explanation of how he worked his techniques into the movie was interesting as well.

Butoh

- Butoh is apparently a type of dance that originated in Japan and is now performed by masters that go around the globe. The dance primarily is more of a long, choreographed routine, and seems to never end. The dancers in this performance were dressed in white clothe, and covered in white chalk. They paraded around in a circle for what seemed like ten minutes, all to mysterious noises lurking in the background. Later, the performers themselves made weird noises, and started to gyrate and shake. I really was not sure what to make of it. I am not sure how it was exactly a dance, and it seemed incredibly easy to choreograph anyway. Although it was developed in Japan after World War II, this dance seemed to be incredibly contemporary. For some reason, weird choreography and modern dance seem to go hand-in-hand. Now graphic design is not a new thing, but the tools we are using in class are. Contemporary relates to new.
